Poetry Group

The poetry group was set up several years ago. There are 7 of us who meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 10 am at one of our members’ houses. We take it in turns to read poems that we have enjoyed. Sometimes this stimulates a discussion that could be on almost any topic. Popular poets who we have read regularly include Seamus Heaney, Roger McGough, Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage, John Betjemen as well as many others.
You would be more than welcome to join us. Any prior knowledge or expertise in poetry is completely unnecessary. If you would like to find out more and test the waters you would be welcome to come and sit in on one of our sessions.
